About

Matt Liquori, founder and head coach.

Growing up, sports and being active were always part of my life. It was not until college that I learned exercise and nutrition were the real levers for health and how I felt. Once I figured out how to make progress, I wanted to share it with my family and friends. That is how I found my passion for fitness and for helping people.

The training journey

Liquori Fit Training, since March 2015.

I started the business in March 2015 with one mission that has not changed: help people realize and achieve their fitness goals. More than ten years on, LiquoriFit is a private personal training gym in Pittsford serving the greater Rochester area, and I still coach every private client myself.

Over those years I have kept pushing myself as an athlete, competing in bodybuilding, strength sports and endurance events from 5Ks to ultramarathons. I play soccer in adult leagues, ski and hike. Competing keeps me a student of the craft, and it keeps me honest about what I ask of my clients.

In the last several years my passion for hiking the High Peaks has taken off. I completed all 46 in July 2025. Along the way I found another passion: taking people with me. The LiquoriFit Mountain Club group hike is now in its fifth year.

One more thing about preparation: I am an Eagle Scout. It shows up in how I plan a hike, and in how I plan your program. Be ready, look after the group, finish what you start.

What it is like to train with Matt

6 months ago I set out to achieve two goals when I turned 50. 1. I wanted to climb a high peak 2. I wanted to run a 5k. Matt was the first person that came to mind. Matt has encouraged, empowered and mentored me to completing each goal this summer. I appreciated his pace in getting me started and reading my anxiety. He is kind, caring and compassionate. His love for fitness comes through in his training. I can honestly say, I wouldn' have been able to do it with out him! Xo

For the past 7 years I have been a client of Matt’s and have never met anyone as knowledgeable as him when it comes to nutrition and training. He’s understood health issues and limitations and has made training pain free. It’s been the most challenging, fun, positive, motivating, and most empowering journey.

Last year I had to get hip surgery in December which set me back physically and mentally but Matt never stopped supporting me before and after during the recovery process. We slowly got going again. With a macro plan, intermittent fast, consistent workouts and getting back to running I started making great progress every week. I lost 30 lbs in 3 months and another 5 in the next two months to get back to my high school weight, at age 33, 185, with a lot more muscle than I’ve ever had before. Im constantly hitting running PRs and am in the best shape of my life. Matt has helped me reach my athletic goals and I now know I have more to find. This is the start of me feeling myself, let’s get after it Matt! This is my intro to success!
